Press Brake Set-Up III - 1st shift ***$500 SIGN ON BONUS***
About the role
Cadrex is searching for a Press Brake Set Up III to perform a variety of duties to set-up and adjust specialized tooling and equipment on brake machines, for production or assembly processes. This role requires extensive knowledge of press brake operations, tooling, and programming to ensure precision bending and forming of metal components. May also assign personnel to various duties. May serve as a Lead in the absence of a lead or supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Performs set-up duties to prepare brake machines and processes, for production or assembly
- Installs, adjusts, changes, and aligns tooling and equipment, to prepare for production operations
- Works from schedules and instructions to analyze machines, process problems, and/or determine solutions
- Makes minor adjustments and clears alarms
- Reads blueprints
- Understands the assembly process and the movement of completed components
- Uses safety straps, machine guards, and/or laser guards, and maintains a ¼-inch gap to ensure safe machine operation
- Uses precision measuring tools, such as a caliper, height gauge, and/or other precision measuring tools on a continuous basis to verify the accuracy of formed products, based on AQL frequency
- Affirms that all materials are available at machines and workstations and are of proper quality during all phases of production. This includes but is not limited to materials and packaging
- Affirms efficient production through all phases of their area of production
- Executes proper inspection methods to receive approval to start a job and makes periodic quality checks of product to ensure that quality standards are met. Also assists operators with, and trains them in, the proper techniques of product inspection
- Affirms that all paperwork and documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner
- May perform the duties of Brake Operator I, II, or III, as necessary
- May train new employees, provide work instruction, and answer questions in the absence of a lead or supervisor
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience operating and setting up press brake machines in a metal manufacturing environment preferred
- Understand the assembly and machine operations process and the movement of completed component
- Produces a high-quality product according to required specifications on a consistent basis
- Produces the required quantity of product according to required output specifications
- Uses computers as required
- Uses measuring tools as required
- Reads and understands Blueprints
- Completes necessary paperwork accurately and timely
- Operates all hand tools, machines and equipment successfully as required and with minimal supervision
- Works as a productive team member who contributes to the organization’s success
- Handles fast-paced work
- Demonstrates the ability to take initiative to see tasks that are needed and complete them without being instructed to do so by supervisors or lead personnel
- Demonstrates dependability with good attendance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma
- Vocational training or certificate in machining, fabrication, or related field preferred
