Preschool Teacher (Sylvan Community Preschool) Vacancies CE - 50-27, REPOST - 2026-27 School Year OPEN UNTIL FILLED

Under the direction of a program administrator, implement a center or home-based education program for eligible preschool children, ensuring compliance with the Performance Standards of Head Start or State-required program and other appropriate guidelines. Develop education plans to meet assessed needs and interpret family and child eligibility for federal and State programs.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required).
• Two years of experience providing instruction to children in an early childhood setting (preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (desirable).
• California Child Development Teacher Permit or higher-level permit (required at time of application).
• Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification (required at time of application).
• Transcripts (unofficial or official at time of application).
• Must be 18 years old.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must provide own transportation; proof of insurance required if using own vehicle for employment.
• Compliance with Senate Bill 792 immunization requirements for influenza, pertussis, and measles.

Qualifications

The following documents are required if offered employment:

• DOJ/FBI/CACI Fingerprint clearance.
• Tuberculosis clearance.
• Physical/drug screen clearance.
• Official transcripts.

Benefits

• Benefit entitlement for health, dental, and vision coverage for positions that are at least 4 hours per day (amount based on hours worked).

Pay

Pay Range: $25.91 - $32.35 per hour (Range 12 CFS CSEA Classified Salary Schedule). Initial salary placement is restricted to a maximum of Step 3 ($28.98).

Schedule

• 195 paid days; 184 workdays per year.
• 8 hours per day (7:00 am - 3:30 pm).
• Full-time employment.
