Responsibilities
- Prepare children and families for school success and life success
- Provide high quality developmentally appropriate care and education for children aged 3-5 in a center-based classroom
- Work as part of a center based inter-disciplinary team to support the child in all areas of development
- Support education, disabilities, health, and social service needs of families
- Absorb and comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to care and education of young children
- Safeguard children by supervising them in all environments
- Maintain health and safety regulations to ensure an optimal learning environment
- Facilitate health practices to keep children safe in various environments
Requirements
- An associate degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, or a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education (EDE)
- Coursework equivalent to a major relating to Child Development or Early Childhood Education in a related field
- Minimum 6 months working with Preschool children highly preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
- Basic keyboard skills, ability to use computers, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and web-based systems
Qualifications
- Education obtained outside of the USA must be evaluated to determine equivalency to USA education standards
Skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of child development theories and practices
- Experience with disabilities, health, and social service support
