Preschool Teacher

Overview

Maintains a safe and healthy classroom and arranges a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Oversees practicum students from the Early Childhood Education program.
• Aids in the management of the preschool classroom.
• Interacts with the children, scaffolds learning, and encourages their involvement in activities.
• Communicates with parents through newsletters and parent conferences.
• Participates in parent involvement program.
• Reports classroom experiences and collaborates with the Early Childhood Lab School Supervisor.
• Uses authentic assessment practices to assess learning and maintain cumulative records of children's development.
• Attends professional meetings and maintains professional competence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
• Ability to manage a classroom environment that supports learning and development.
• Proficiency in using authentic assessment practices.
