About the role

The Preschool Teacher Assistant supports the classroom teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role involves assisting students in building foundational academic skills as well as fostering their social and emotional growth.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in building foundational academic skills
• Fosters social and emotional growth of students
• Helps implement daily activities
• Supports individual student needs
• Promotes a positive, inclusive classroom culture

Qualifications and Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Must have a High School Degree
• Ability to teach appropriate grade-level curriculum
• Ability to establish collaborative relationships with assigned teacher or grade level teaching staff

Personal and Professional Qualities

• Possesses the ability to work tactfully and effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents
• Displays evidence of an educational philosophy in agreement with that of Holy Family Catholic Academy
• Displays an ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents

Professional Responsibilities

• Adheres to the unique Catholic mission and interfaith values of the Academy
• Utilizes effective instructional strategies with students
• Manages the students in a positive manner, respecting the dignity of all
• Maintains a positive rapport with all members of HFCA community
• Fulfills routine duties and expectations in a dependable manner

Physical Demands and Environment

• Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
• Use of technical equipment such as laptop computers, overhead projectors, and whiteboards
• Walk up and down stairs
• Heavy lifting up to 30 pounds may be required

This position has an hourly range of $15.50 - $16.50. An employee’s pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
