Preschool Paraprofessional for the Blind/VI, USDB
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare teaching materials and tutor individual students under the supervision of the instructor
- Communicate the progress of the students to the instructor
- Perform such duties as may relate to the motivation and achievement of students in academic and skills areas
- Aid with behavior interventions under the direction of the instructor
- Assist with routine daily activities, including bus duty, recess, lunch, bathroom (may include diapering), etc.
- Support in a classroom environment by working directly with teachers and students
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Design and/or prepare training/instructional materials, teaching aids and devices
Qualifications
- The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Possess Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
- Ability to deal with strenuous physical requirements such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities and recurring lifting of students and/or lift over 50 pounds.
- Ability to deal with risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check contingent upon employment.
