About the Role

The Lawndale Elementary School District has openings for Preschool Instructional Assistants. This is a 10-month position (August–June) that accumulates one paid vacation and sick day per month of employment. LESD provides a $1,000 per year career enrichment program for employees.

Schedule

  • Carson School (Full-time – 1 vacancy): Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • Carson School (Part-time – 1 vacancy): Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–11:30 AM
  • B. Mitchell School (Part-time – 1 vacancy): Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–11:30 AM

Schedule and location subject to change.

Pay

Pay Range: $21.50 – $27.42 per hour.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 12 units in Early Childhood Education (or AA Degree in Early Childhood Education)
  • Child Development Assistant Permit (per California State Regulations)
  • At least one year of experience working with preschool-age children
  • Proof of immunization/verification for Pertussis, Whooping Cough, Measles, and Influenza (per Senate Bill 792)
  • Proof of tuberculosis clearance and a health screen report
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • TB clearance
  • Must pass an academic assessment test conducted by LESD
