Responsibilities

  • Aid the teacher in improving preschool programs through various tasks as determined by the teacher.
  • Involvement in clerical duties, supervision of children, transportation, food service, and instructional tasks.
  • Perform tasks outside the direct supervision of the teacher, but the teacher retains responsibility for instruction and supervision.
  • Do not disclose any personal information about pupils to anyone other than the teacher or an appropriate administrator.

Requirements

  • DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
  • TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
  • Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
  • Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY)
  • Experience as a participating parent in a State Preschool Class; experience as a leader in children's activities; Paid school experience is desirable but not required.
  • Completion of the twelfth grade.
  • Completion of six units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development is required.
  • Willingness to complete training courses, in-service, or otherwise, as may be required after being hired.
  • Successful completion of the District Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check, TB Test within the last 60 days, district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc., obtaining and maintaining First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY), experience as a participating parent in a State Preschool Class, experience as a leader in children's activities, paid school experience is desirable but not required, completion of the twelfth grade, completion of six units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development, and willingness to complete training courses as required.

Schedule

9.5 work months, 2.0 hours per day, 5 days a week, Clock Hours: 11:45 AM - 1:45 PM (subject to change)
