Preschool Director
About the Role
As Head of School, you will serve as the leader of the campus community, guiding the vision, supporting and developing staff, building strong relationships with families, and ensuring an exceptional educational experience for every child.
We’re looking for a dynamic and people-centered leader who can balance strategy, operations, enrollment growth, and team development while cultivating a warm, joyful, and high-performing school culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the campus team through strong coaching, communication, and support
- Build a positive school culture rooted in collaboration, professionalism, and care
- Develop and execute strategic plans to support enrollment growth and school success
- Persistently partner with families to create a strong, engaged school community
- Ensure classrooms consistently deliver high-quality Montessori education
- Oversee campus operations and manage the school budget responsibly
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain exceptional educators and staff
- Collaborate with school leadership partners to meet enrollment and retention goals
Qualifications
- Early childhood education leadership experience
- Strong organizational and operational management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- A talent for building warm, collaborative, and accountable team cultures
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to lead confidently in a fast-paced environment
- A genuine passion for child development and educational excellence
- Commitment to authentic Montessori education and child-centered learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in an early childhood education setting
- Experience as a School Director, Program Director, Admissions Director, Administrative Director, or similar leadership role in a preschool or early learning environment
- Familiarity with Montessori education and/or Montessori certification
- Step 9 or higher in the Oregon Registry
- At least one year of experience managing or supervising adults, combined with knowledge of child development
