Preschool Assistant Teacher

What You'll Do

• The ability to adjust daily routines to meet the diverse needs and interests of individual children and the group as a whole.
• Maintaining a clean, well-maintained, and safe facility and equipment for the children.
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures, including disciplinary measures.
• Planning and organizing a range of weekly and monthly activities.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development and contributing to the program's goals and objectives.
• Crafting activities that cater to the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of the children.
• Creating an inclusive classroom environment that fosters parent participation.
• Providing necessary equipment and engaging activities for the children.
• Safeguarding the children by ensuring they are always supervised.
• Communicating with parents to discuss their child's development and progress.
• Implementing positive discipline methods.
• Observing children and recording their progress and development.
• Creating a safe and secure environment where children feel comfortable and supported.
• Incorporating children with special needs into the program in a positive and respectful manner.

Requirements

• MUST have 1+ years in a childcare setting
• A minimum of 12 Early Childhood Credits & must be willing to work towards degree
• CPR/First Aid certified
• Provide 3 professional references
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood preferred
• Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation a plus
• Knowledge of ELDS or DOTS

Nice to Haves

• Additional training in first aid and CPR
• Certified to administer Epi-pens
• Training in medication administration
• Completion of the C4K Health & Safety Training
