About the Role

The Goddard School is seeking a Lead Teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment, planning learning activities, implementing lessons and activities, assisting with daily program management, and fostering positive relationships with families.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
• Plan learning activities within established classroom centers.
• Implement prepared lessons and activities in small and large group settings throughout the program day.
• Absorb children with managing all parts of the program day, including transitions between activities, meals, toileting/diapering & washing hands, structured activities, etc.
• Assist with daily program management, including but not limited to managing classroom supplies, cleaning, and ensuring the classroom is organized and ready for the next activity.
• Establish positive and effective family relations through interactive parent communication.
• Ensure compliance with Goddard’s Industry-leading Quality Assurance standards.

Requirements

• Show empathy and compassion for young children.
• Be dependable and adaptable and enjoy working together toward a common goal.
• Experience working with children in a childcare, daycare, volunteer, or babysitting setting.

Qualifications

• A degree or certificate (CDA) in early childhood, elementary education, related human services field, or early childhood coursework is required for Lead Teachers.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infants and Young Toddlers, Teachers must be able to lift infants into and out of a crib properly.
