Job Summary
Convey is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Presales Engineer to support our sales efforts in the utility sector and other regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clear, engaging, and tailored demonstrations of our SaaS platform, showcasing how our solutions address client pain points and business goals.
- Participate in sales meetings to provide technical insight and assist in addressing customer questions about product capabilities, architecture, and integration.
- Assist in designing and configuring solution components based on customer requirements, ensuring alignment with Convey’s capabilities.
- Support the creation of documentation such as proposals, product overviews, and basic technical collateral used in the sales process.
- Document feedback and observations from client interactions and share them with the product and engineering teams to support product improvement.
- Maintain general awareness of competitive products and assist the team in identifying how our offering stands out in key areas.
- Work closely with Enterprise Sales Executives, VP of Pre-Sales Engineering, and the broader sales team to support ongoing deals and improve internal processes.
- Continuously build product knowledge and industry awareness through training, shadowing senior team members, and participating in team enablement sessions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a technical role supporting software or SaaS solutions—presales, technical consulting, or support roles preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), APIs, and software architecture principles, including microservices and modern programming languages. Experience with SaaS platforms or enterprise software is preferred.
- Industry Awareness: Interest in or basic knowledge of regulated industries such as utilities, healthcare, or financial services. (Prior experience is a bonus but not required.)
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and think critically when evaluating technical options and client needs.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and supporting senior team members in delivering high-impact demos and technical presentations.
- Growth Mindset: Eagerness to learn about new technologies, customer industries, and best practices in presales and solution design.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 25%-35% of the time for client meetings, team offsites, or industry events.
