About the Role

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The role requires adherence to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction, with a focus on portion control, food waste reduction, and sanitation.

This is a part-time position with an hourly pay rate of $18.00–$19.00.

Responsibilities

  • Cook and package food product prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
  • Receive verbal orders from front counter staff for guest food requirements.
  • Maintain quality and production standards for all menu items, ensuring freshness and high quality.
  • Uphold portion control and proper serving temperatures for all products.
  • Clean, stock, and restock workstations and displays.
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and ovens.
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, food is properly stored, utensils are sanitized, and floors are swept and mopped at the end of each shift.
  • Complete a checkout with the Floor Supervisor to confirm cleanliness standards are met before ending the shift.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance as per company standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests to foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Previous experience as a prep cook or line cook preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and event-driven environment.
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.
