About the role
PACU Registered Nurse at South Denver Surgery Center: Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
Responsibilities
- Implement all physician orders
- Provide continuous nursing care for patients
- Evaluate patients' conditions
- Absorb and communicate with physicians during procedures
- Assist with conscious sedation and sterile techniques
- Provide comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient and family care for discharge
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Experience in PACU / ICU preferred
- Good communication and human relations skills
- Organizational and follow-through abilities
- Thorough knowledge of perioperative processes and surgical/anesthesia implications

Pay
- Hourly Range: $34 - $53 (based on experience)
Schedule
- M-F daytime hours
- No weekends, nights, calls or holidays*
