About the role

Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for an Assembly I position located in the Booneville, MS facility. This position will include basic assembly operations with processes that are repetitive with minimal complexity and variation. You’ll work in a fast-paced, safety and quality-focused team environment to perform various assembly processes while promoting sustainability and contributing to a circular economy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic assembly operations following contamination control guidelines.
  • Read prints and perform quality checks as defined by standard work.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, gages, hoists, presses, and other equipment as necessary.
  • Follow production schedules and utilize computer systems (MES, BIQ, Pinpoint, Epix) for work instructions, prints, and data entry.
  • Operate overhead cranes/hoists and electric pallet jacks to move parts in and out of the work area.
  • Adhere to Built in Safety guidelines at all times.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and self-motivation in an environment without close supervision.
  • Cross-train in other areas of operations (e.g., Cleaning 1, Disassembly 1, Logistics 1) to provide flexibility.

Requirements

  • Basic computer experience (ability to read standard work documents and enter data).
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
  • Prior use of hoists and knowledge of engines/components is a plus.
  • Experience with assembly/disassembly tooling (hand tools, air tools, pneumatic tools, etc.).

Physical Requirements

  • Job may be physically demanding; must handle high-volume, fast-paced operations.
  • Ability to walk, squat, and bend for intervals of 15-30 minutes.
  • Must wear proper PPE and lift/push/pull parts up to 30 lbs. multiple times per shift.
  • Must stand for up to 10+ hours per shift.

Pay

Starting hourly pay rate of $17.05 (negotiable based on skills/experience). Additional 7% night shift premium for 2nd shift.

Schedule

  • 2nd shift: 3 PM – 1 AM, Monday – Thursday (40-hour work week with potential overtime).
  • 80 hours of vacation plus 3 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) (prorated based on hire date).
  • 10 paid holidays, including a paid holiday shutdown at the end of the year (dependent on business needs).
