Premium Audit Technician
This position can be located in our Stevens Point or Madison, WI office(s) and will follow Sentry’s current hybrid model of 3 days in-office.
About the role
Entry level role focused on supporting the premium audit function. Communicates with internal and external customers and supports a growing book of middle and large businesses across all lines. Works with the unit supervisor and peer audit review team for timely review of financial and business records to determine final earned premium.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and disseminates mail, email, and fax audit report submissions for all lines of business and all states.
- Assesses records received and communicates with insureds and agents when additional information is expected.
- Creates referrals to underwriters on pertinent information after the review process.
- Assists with responding to insured and agent questions and requests.
- Calculates and bills final policy premium after audit has been reviewed.
- Evaluates moderately complex voluntary audits for regional business to determine accurate classification and policy provisions to calculate final earned premium.
- Communicates with insureds and agents to discuss records and operations.
- Creates referrals for operation changes to underwriters and audit management that may impact premium.
- Initiates and completes necessary policy changes following established department guidelines.
- Performs quality audits for all peers within premium audit department.
Requirements
- High School Diploma; Associate Degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of PC software applications.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Capability to meet and adapt to deadlines and workload fluctuations.
- Excellent customer engagement and service skills.
- Great judgment and decision-making ability.
- Analytical skills to effectively interpret manual rules and audit information.
- Basic aptitude for mathematics, accounting, and financial documents beneficial.
