Job Summary
About the role
PreK4Ward Lead Teacher Position is located in the Harrison County School District.
Responsibilities
- Follow the Mississippi Early Learning Curriculum for Four-Year-Olds by employing instructional methods and materials most appropriate to meeting PreK4Ward goals and objectives.
- Create a classroom and school environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of four-year-olds.
- Assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of students under his/her direct supervision.
- Maintain written lesson plans that clearly identify objectives for all lessons and submit them for administrative review as required.
- Evaluate students regularly and provide progress reports as required.
- Maintain and submit reports and records as required.
- Effectively communicate with parents or guardians as required.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Qualifications
- Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education Degree and MS Certification preferred, or PreK 4 experience of ten years or more.
- A resume must be included for consideration.
- Must pass DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING and CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK as outlined by HSCD.
Skills
- Ability to create a safe and engaging learning environment for young children.
- Strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of early childhood education curriculum and best practices.
- Ability to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
