Job Summary

About the role

The PreK4Ward Lead Teacher position is located within the Harrison County School District. The role adheres to the Mississippi Early Learning Curriculum for Four-Year-Olds, utilizing appropriate instructional methods and materials to achieve PreK4Ward goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom and school environment conducive to learning suitable for four-year-olds.
• Assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of students under direct supervision.
• Maintain written lesson plans identifying clear objectives for all lessons and submit them for administrative review as required.
• Evaluate students regularly and provide progress reports as needed.
• Maintain and submit required reports and records.
• Effectively communicate with parents or guardians as necessary.
• Aid in the implementation of all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and develop classroom rules and procedures.
• Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
• Strive to maintain and improve professional knowledge.
• Attend meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the administration.

Requirements

• Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education Degree and MS Certification preferred, or at least ten years of PreK 4 experience.
• A resume must be submitted for consideration.
• Pass drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check as outlined by HSCD.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Skills

• Ability to create a safe and engaging learning environment for young children.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience in early childhood education or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Mississippi Early Learning Curriculum for Four-Year-Olds.
