Job Summary
About the role
The PreK4Ward Lead Teacher position is located within the Harrison County School District. The role adheres to the Mississippi Early Learning Curriculum for Four-Year-Olds, utilizing appropriate instructional methods and materials to achieve PreK4Ward goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Create a classroom and school environment conducive to learning suitable for four-year-olds.
- Assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of students under direct supervision.
- Maintain written lesson plans identifying clear objectives for all lessons and submit them for administrative review as required.
- Evaluate students regularly and provide progress reports as needed.
- Maintain and submit required reports and records.
- Effectively communicate with parents or guardians as necessary.
- Aid in the implementation of all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and develop classroom rules and procedures.
- Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional knowledge.
- Attend meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
Requirements
- Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education Degree and MS Certification preferred, or at least ten years of PreK 4 experience.
- A resume must be submitted for consideration.
- Pass drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check as outlined by HSCD.
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Skills
- Ability to create a safe and engaging learning environment for young children.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in early childhood education or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Mississippi Early Learning Curriculum for Four-Year-Olds.
