PreK SPED Teacher - Chattanooga TN

About the role

Working with 3, 4, 5 year olds, including those with comprehensive, developmental delays, autism, and other impairments. Classes typically have up to 16 students with 3 adults in the classroom. The position involves supporting the IEP process, assessments, and completed IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support throughout the year in various educational settings.
• Work within certified programs through state departments, requiring 30 hours of professional development.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with a preferred minimum of one year of teaching experience.
• Hold a valid state teaching certificate and endorsement 459 or 468.
• Comply with all relevant professional standards and state regulations.
• Maintain current CPR certification and health certificates as per contract or state requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Current state teaching certificate and endorsement 459 or 468.
• Completed state-mandated professional development.
• Experience working with children in a special education setting.
• Ability to pass a TB test and health screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• One year of teaching experience preferred.
• Valid state teaching certificate.
• Endorsement 459 or 468.
