Tuff Shed, the industry leader in storage buildings and garages, is seeking construction/laborers/builders at our manufacturing facility. Training provided! Work indoors every day—no lost days due to weather. All power tools and nail guns supplied.
Responsibilities
- Reads, understands, and executes directions given in writing, orally, or in diagram form
- Operates power tools (multiple types of saws and drills, router, pneumatic nail guns, air compressed tools) and other equipment safely
- Utilizes a tape measure, working drawings, and speed square efficiently and accurately
- Performs fabrication of Tuff Shed products (cuts, trims, paints, and semi-assembles) according to cut sheets, engineer drawings, or other instructions using lumber and materials per policies and procedures
- Applies proper amounts of paint, ensures appropriate side and edge coverage, and maintains painting equipment and materials to Tuff Shed standards
- Ensures completed sub-assembly is placed in appropriate bins for specific building assignment
- Makes certain all power and pneumatic tools are operating correctly, safely, and within manufacturer specifications; maintains and lubricates tools daily; reports unsafe or malfunctioning tools to the Production Foreman
- Complies with Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including maintaining a clean and organized work area each day
- Informs the Production Foreman when inventory levels are low
- Able to regularly move up to 50 pounds for at least 100 feet; able to periodically lift more than 50 pounds for at least 100 feet with assistance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of the construction industry, basic carpentry skills, and basic painting skills
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to carry out instructions communicated in writing, orally, or in diagram form
- Ability to use basic arithmetic, read a tape measure, working drawings, and speed square
- Experience with prefabrication or similar function
- Experience handling and operating power tools preferred
- Experience utilizing a tape measure, speed square, and interpreting working drawings preferred
- May be required to successfully complete Tuff Shed forklift certification
