Our Employee-Owned company has immediate full-time openings for Pre-Fabrication Technicians in the Southeast. This position will work within Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, and Federal businesses and be part of an amazing and growing team. All positions are regular, full-time, and benefits eligible.
Responsibilities
- Assembling electrical devices, components, and systems in a workshop environment
- Measuring, cutting, bending, painting, and labeling components per design drawings
- Fabricating products out of different materials
- Reading and understanding assembling instructions/worksheets/drawings provided
- Selecting materials and assembling components per drawings and direction of supervisor
- Using small hand tools and power tools as instructed
- Working productively through repetitive tasks
- Material handling - inventory control, storage, and organizing
- Loading and unloading material trucks by hand or with equipment
- Packing and palletizing products
- Keeping work area clean and free of clutter and hazards
- Identifying waste and recommending elimination methods
- Recommending continuous process improvement strategies
- Performing other tasks as directed by the shop supervisor
- Pre-planning and identifying methods needed to eliminate hazards on a daily basis for every work task
- Exhibiting proficiency in observing the habits of others while bringing any hazards or potential dangers to their attention
- Upholding safety as the most important goal of our company while supporting the objective of achieving zero accidents
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required
- 1+ year relevant experience
- Possess basic math skills
- Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics
- Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Physical Requirements
- Frequent time spent in warehouse and shop, exposing employee to noise and moving machinery
- Lift at least 50 pounds
- Constant moving on your feet
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
