Preceptor Clinical Supervisor - Obstetrics

Responsibilities

  • Supports administrative and clinical responsibility for the department service functions.
  • Works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager.
  • Assumes the administrative scope of the unit in the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations.
  • Develops and implements departmental plans related to the onboarding, orientation, and precepting of new hire licensed nurses (RN and LVN).
  • Conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel.
  • Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
  • Responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift.
  • Aids the Department Director in the daily operation of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment, and staff.
  • Ensures the efficient functions of the department.
  • Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope practice.
  • Continually assesses patient care delivery and directs staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Specialty department education experience preferred.
  • PALS upon hire for units that admit pediatric patients.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $90,000.00 to $125,700.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
