Preboarding Specialist

About the role

We're seeking a Preboarding Specialist to work at a leading organization in Houston, TX. With us, it's all about finding the job that's just right.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring a positive and seamless preboarding experience from offer acceptance to Day 1
• Cooking pre-employment screenings (background checks, drug tests, physicals) and tracking progress to ensure timely completion
• Supporting I-9 compliance by monitoring documentation and ensuring timely completion in accordance with federal requirements
• Liaising with internal HR teams, Health & Safety, and external vendors to resolve issues and maintain service-level expectations
• Managing candidate records in Workday, supporting documentation audits, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives
• Providing project-based support for merger, acquisition, or other large-scale hiring events as needed

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (preferred)
• At least 5 years of progressive professional experience in HR operations, preboarding, onboarding, or compliance-focused roles
• High-volume hiring experience, especially in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
• Strong organizational, follow-up, and communication skills
• A high attention to detail and commitment to compliance and data accuracy
• Proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
• Experience with Workday and employment screening services

8am - 5pm M-F
