Pre Voc Peer Mentor

About the role

We are seeking a Pre-Vocational Peer Mentor to provide support to students with Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) on Nassau Community College’s campus.

Responsibilities

• Escort students to classes, volunteer opportunities and social events.
• Offer academic support/tutoring and assist staff in modifying assignments.
• Support special events related to the program and other duties as assigned.
• Create, maintain, and enter daily notes for participants into Medisked database.

Qualifications & Education

• Current college student in preferably the field of Social Work/Psychology/Education or related studies.
• Must have an interest in helping students with intellectual disabilities.
• The position will be 10 -20 Hours/Week.
