Pre-School Teacher Assistant - 188 Day

About the role

This position is paraprofessional work which requires the teacher assistant to assist the classroom teacher in providing full-time and individualized instruction to students whose first language is not English. This position assists in a variety of tasks and helps carry out instructional procedures as directed by the classroom teacher. This position performs work under the direct supervision of the teacher, building administrator, and E.S.L. supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing full-time and individualized instruction to students whose first language is not English.
• Absorb and implement instructional procedures as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Perform a variety of tasks to support classroom activities.
• Work under the direct supervision of the teacher, building administrator, and E.S.L. supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of educational techniques and strategies appropriate for teaching students whose first language is not English.
• Experience working with students who are learning English as a second language.
• High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.

Pay
