About the Opportunity:The Pre Registration Representative plays a critical role in verifying patient information and insurance eligibility to ensure accurate hospital encounters. This position supports pre-service functions such as scheduling, pre-registration, and financial counseling, directly impacting patient experience and operational efficiency. 3. Responsibilities:• Verify patient information for hospital encounters• Resolve eligibility and benefit verification issues• Use work queues and reports to process assigned encounters• Monitor third-party payer coverage and inform patients of potential out-of-pocket expenses• Support scheduling, pre-registration, and financial counseling tasks• Assist uninsured or underinsured patients with payer sources or payment arrangements• Provide cost estimates to self-pay patients• Safeguard credit card information and document transactions appropriately• Maintain patient confidentiality and discretion• Update patient data and maintain computer registration knowledge• Meet productivity, quality, and reporting standards 4. Requirements:• High School Diploma or GED• Minimum 2 years experience in admitting, registration, or hospital business office roles• Minimum 2 years experience in healthcare with insurance and third-party payers• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)• Ability to work full-time within 11:30am to 8:00pm PST, including occasional overtime• Must be at least 18 years old Preferred Qualifications:• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding• EPIC proficiency to be completed within 90 days of start date Telecommuting Requirements:• Dedicated private workspace• Secure handling of sensitive documents• Access to UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet Soft Skills:• Computer and typing skills 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:• Hourly pay ranges from $18 to $32 based on experience and other factors 6.
