Pre Press Technician

Roles and Responsibilities

• Create page layouts for press-sheet configurations per customer specifications using a Mac-based work flow configuration.
• Create contract project proofs using wide-format proofing devices.
• Proficiently configure press-sheet layouts using XMF RIP hardware.
• Proficiently utilize a PDF workflow.
• Manually output litho plates using CTP technology and verify desired outputs.
• Work closely with Account Managers, Pressroom personnel and Bindery Team Leaders to ensure desired customer expectations.
• Perform routine maintenance on CTP Plate Processor and trouble-shoot potential problems.
• Perform routine housekeeping maintenance of work areas.
• Manually distribute litho plates to the desired presses.

Basic Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Ability to work with other department personnel on a job-to-job basis.
• Prior experience in Mac-based applications (Adobe InDesign, PDF, Photoshop, etc.).
• Prior experience with Postscript RIP technology (Rampage, XMF).
• Prior experience in a CTP environment.
• Excellent Math skills.
• Attention to detail.
