Pre-Pharmacy Student Technician
Location: US – WI – Menomonee Falls, Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital (on‑site). FTE: 0.001 | Standard Hours: 0.01.
Schedule
- Shift 4
- MCW & CUW: 1 weeknight shift every week and every other weekend (1st and 2nd shifts).
- UW: Every third weekend (1st and 2nd shifts).
- Holidays: 2 per year.
Job Summary
Following established policies and procedures, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, prepares and distributes medication and performs functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code – Pharmacy Examining Board – Pharmacy Practice Sections.
Experience
A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
Licensure
Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is preferred.
