Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides planned, skilled, and individualized nursing care for patients in the preoperative and postoperative/post-anesthesia (Phase 1 & 2) periods of the perioperative process.
- Performs thorough patient assessment, patient surveillance, and timely administration of physician’s orders, preparing the patient for and recovering the patient after surgery in an outpatient setting.
- Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Organization.
- Maintains familiarity with and abides by the Center’s policies and procedures.
- Contributes to the progress and development of the Organization’s adopted Quality Management Program.
- Maintains professional competence by participating in continuing education and other learning experiences.
- Maintains membership(s) and activity within relevant professional organization(s).
Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of 2 years perioperative orthopaedic surgery experience.
- Preferred experience in Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery.
- Preferred Critical Care experience.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification (able to obtain within 6 months of hire).
