Pre-Op/Post-Op Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides planned, skilled, and individualized nursing care for patients in the preoperative and postoperative/post-anesthesia (Phase 1 & 2) periods of the perioperative process.
• Performs thorough patient assessment, patient surveillance, and timely administration of physician’s orders, preparing the patient for and recovering the patient after surgery in an outpatient setting.
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Organization.
• Maintains familiarity with and abides by the Center’s policies and procedures.
• Contributes to the progress and development of the Organization’s adopted Quality Management Program.
• Maintains professional competence by participating in continuing education and other learning experiences.
• Maintains membership(s) and activity within relevant professional organization(s).

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan.
• Minimum of 2 years perioperative orthopaedic surgery experience.
• Preferred experience in Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery.
• Preferred Critical Care experience.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification (able to obtain within 6 months of hire).
