Pre-op/PACU Registered Nurse
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse to join our orthopedic ambulatory surgery center team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in preoperative assessment, post-anesthesia recovery, and the care of orthopedic surgery patients. This nurse is skilled at recognizing changes in patient condition, providing compassionate, patient-centered care, and ensuring a safe, efficient surgical experience from admission through discharge.
Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative assessment and post-anesthesia recovery care for orthopedic surgery patients
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the surgical experience
- Provide patient education regarding procedures, pain management, and discharge planning
- Manage pain and coordinate discharge planning for patients
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team
- Ensure a safe, efficient surgical experience from admission through discharge
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong background in preoperative assessment and post-anesthesia recovery
- Experience caring for patients undergoing total joint replacement, sports medicine, spine, hand, foot and ankle, and other orthopedic procedures
- Skilled in patient education, pain management, and discharge planning
- Experience collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative teams
