Pre-Op/PACU Nurse Manager

About the role

The Pre-Op/PACU Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit departments in an outpatient surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and training
• Ensure safe, efficient patient flow and compliance with standards such as CMS and AAAHC
• Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesia providers, and leadership to optimize perioperative processes
• Monitor quality metrics and incident reports, and implement performance improvements
• Manage administrative functions like recruitment and documentation
• Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement with emphasis on patient safety, team coordination, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• PALS and BLS certifications
• Strong leadership, communication, and regulatory knowledge skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent team-building abilities
• Physical capability to support patient transfers
