Position Summary

The Lead Legal Nurse of the pre-litigation department at WLG will play a key role in supporting the firm's medical education efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and guiding team members to ensure their work is complete and providing support and guidance to help team members meet their goals
- Assists in the implementation of clinical models and systems throughout treatment modalities that our clients may experience
- Advises on cases and assists team members and clients through medical education
- Makes sure ongoing implementation and effectiveness of processes are evaluated and maintained to keep quality standards of treatment guidelines
- Develops, maintains, and implements training programs both one-on-one and group settings, both virtual and face-to-face
- Conducts and assists in case audits and analyzes trends and patterns
- Trains new employees in New Hire Orientation and New Hire Training on a variety of appropriate medical knowledge areas
- Helps clients and teams understand case-related injuries aspects and probable treatments
- Aids in medical writing for publications internal and external and training utilizing multiple software applications
- Assesses department needs to determine medical knowledge training requirements
- Communicates with clients; clarifies treatment procedures and importance
- Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to clients when needed
- Reviews medical and billing records throughout the treatment phase of the case as needed
Qualifications
- State licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience leading or supervising a team preferred
- Medical Records review experience desired
- 5 or more years of medical experience preferred in one or more of the following: Primary Care, Emergency Room/Urgent Care, Orthopedic or Neurology
- Teaching ability: desire to share information directly contributes to the success of others
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person, and email
- Advanced Research skills
- Proven success in meeting expectations as part of a team
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
- Superb organizational and time management skills; meticulous attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions
- Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
- Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer
- Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascend/descend the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area
- Carry weight/lift – Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs
