Pre-Litigation Attorney

An established personal injury law firm with more than 75 years of experience advocating for injured individuals and families is seeking a Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Attorney to join its team in Hampton, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for a Virginia-licensed attorney who enjoys managing personal injury cases, negotiating settlements, providing strategic legal guidance, and leading a pre-litigation team. The role also offers direct courtroom exposure and collaboration with experienced litigation attorneys. Key Responsibilities Manage personal injury cases from intake through pre-suit resolution or transition to litigation.Supervise, mentor, and support pre-litigation case managers while ensuring efficient case progression.Evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, and medical treatment to develop effective case strategies.Review and approve settlement demands, ensuring accuracy and strong negotiation positioning.Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters to secure favorable settlements for clients.Address client concerns and provide legal guidance throughout the settlement process.Oversee settlement disbursements and ensure proper case closure.Coordinate with litigation attorneys on cases requiring formal litigation.Maintain accurate case records, documentation, and deadlines.Handle General District Court trials and related Circuit Court appeals when necessary. Qualifications Active Virginia law license in good standing.2-3+ years of experience handling Virginia personal injury matters.Strong negotiation, analytical, and legal judgment skills.Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.Familiarity with Neos or similar legal case management software and Microsoft Office.A proactive, organized, and client-focused approach to legal practice.
