Pre-Kindergarten Ed Tech II at Union Elementary

About the role

Union Elementary is seeking a dynamic team player to join our small but mighty team as our pre-kindergarten education technician to work alongside our pre-kindergarten classroom teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pre Kindergarten teacher in creating a developmentally appropriate play based and rigorous program with a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth
• Assist in establishing effective rapport with students and their families
• Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for a solid foundation for elementary school
• Establish good relationships with other staff members
• Assist in planning and assessing daily classroom activities
• Communicate effectively with children and adults from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds
• Maintain the confidentiality of families, staff and program
• Assist in establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior that lead to an effective learning atmosphere
• Assist in providing individualized and small group instruction to meet the academic, functional and developmental needs of each child
