Essential Functions
- Aid the Lead Teacher in organizing and maintaining the classroom environment.
- Implement an age-appropriate curriculum under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
- Support various age groups and classes as needed.
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
- Participate in Parent Advisory Committee and YMCA-sponsored events.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and workshops for professional development.
- Engage consistently with children across different settings.
- Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
- Model and demonstrate relationship-building skills.
- Respond promptly to parent inquiries.
- Take on responsibilities during the absence of the Lead Teacher.
- Participate in Summer Camp programs.
- Model and embody the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Behave in a manner that upholds the best interests of the Association.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Preferred certifications include CDA, 60 college credits, or a degree in Education.
- Experience in curriculum implementation and teamwork is essential.
- Maintain necessary training requirements as mandated by the Office of Licensing.
- Show strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
- Be able to solve problems and take initiative aligned with the YMCA's mission and goals.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, serve as a role model, and identify potential risks.
- Obtain First-Aid, CPR, and AED certifications within 30 days of employment.
- Have the ability to connect with diverse communities effectively.
