Pre-K Teacher Assistant

Essential Functions

• Aid the Lead Teacher in organizing and maintaining the classroom environment.
• Implement an age-appropriate curriculum under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
• Support various age groups and classes as needed.
• Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
• Participate in Parent Advisory Committee and YMCA-sponsored events.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and workshops for professional development.
• Engage consistently with children across different settings.
• Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
• Model and demonstrate relationship-building skills.
• Respond promptly to parent inquiries.
• Take on responsibilities during the absence of the Lead Teacher.
• Participate in Summer Camp programs.
• Model and embody the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
• Behave in a manner that upholds the best interests of the Association.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Preferred certifications include CDA, 60 college credits, or a degree in Education.
• Experience in curriculum implementation and teamwork is essential.
• Maintain necessary training requirements as mandated by the Office of Licensing.
• Show strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
• Be able to solve problems and take initiative aligned with the YMCA's mission and goals.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team, serve as a role model, and identify potential risks.
• Obtain First-Aid, CPR, and AED certifications within 30 days of employment.
• Have the ability to connect with diverse communities effectively.
