Pre-Install Copier Technician role based in Norcross, GA, performing basic pre-install and setup of assigned machines according to Canon USA Pre-Install/Configuration Shop Standards. Includes on-the-job training in configuration, basic used equipment evaluations, and assisting in other Logistics areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned pre-installs/configurations daily at or above the established benchmark for each model.
- Maintain appropriate monthly average labor time for “S” calls, dependent on workload and availability.
- Achieve monthly accountability expectations based on the shop tech matrix.
- Maintain a high level of work quality and consistent conformance with published standards.
- Maintain all technical information and Canon property assigned.
- Communicate effectively with team members and internal departments to ensure timely completion of assigned work related to pre-installs and/or preparation of used machines.
- Assist and/or cross-train in other Logistics functions as assigned.
- Available to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
- Consistently follow all documented shop processes and procedures.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and security.
- Begin on-the-job training in configuration of MFDs within segments 1-7 (up to 109+ PPM).
- Complete foundational training within the first year of employment (online prerequisites and classroom training).
- Travel to support other RDCs as assigned (valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required).
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required, plus less than one year of related experience.
- Degree in Electronics, or equivalent training in Military/Trade School/Industry, with at least 1 year of Electrical/Mechanical industry experience, or at least three months of hands-on pre-install experience as a temporary employee.
- Good working knowledge of personal computers, general and office application software.
- Basic understanding of networking.
- Capable of accessing E-support via a computer and using other online tools.
- Capable of updating System Software on Canon connected devices.
- Logical thinking with the ability to learn and apply acquired knowledge.
- Ability to gain working knowledge and aptitude on all current Canon MFDs.
- Strong technical and non-technical communication skills.
- Demonstrated willingness and success working in a team environment.
- Positive work attitude.
- Must be in position and show consistent performance for a minimum of one year prior to consideration for promotion.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and lift up to 75 lbs. with assistance/team lift.
- Frequent kneeling and standing.
- Potential repetitive use of manual screwdrivers.
- Use of chemical cleaning solvents.
Pay
$17.20 - $21.15 hourly

Schedule
Full-time, on-site position requiring presence at assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory on scheduled work days. Overtime may be required, including weekends.
