Pre-Delivery Inspection Technician

About the role
The Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician is a highly skilled mechanical and electrical role responsible for inspecting, testing, and preparing new double-decker buses prior to customer delivery, ensuring vehicles meet quality, safety, and operational standards. Be part of our Las Vegas team, supporting Southern Nevada's transportation and manufacturing industry by producing double-deck buses for customers across North America. As the only facility of its kind in North America, our site is a hub for cutting-edge transit solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-delivery inspections and testing of all bus systems
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues identified during inspections
- Participate in road tests and complete inspection checklists
- Torque wheels to specification and support alignment and A/C commissioning activities
- Program and calibrate entry and exit door systems
- Download, install, and update software across onboard vehicle systems
- Collaborate with the Final Finish Supervisor to support on-time customer delivery
Requirements
- Education, certification or specialized training in automotive field
- Hands-on mechanical and electrical experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, specifically CAN BUS architecture, and the ability to read and interpret automotive electrical schematics
- Skilled working with diagnostic tools, including multimeters and vehicle diagnostic software
- Experience performing pre-delivery inspections on heavy-duty vehicles is an asset
Physical & Workplace Requirements
- Regularly lift up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and work at heights
- Exposure to vibration and moving mechanical parts in a manufacturing environment
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace procedures
