Overview The Preconstruction Manager at Mavin Construction serves as a strategic leader and trusted advisor throughout the planning and preconstruction phases of a project. This role is responsible for guiding internal teams, clients, and trade partners from early concept through project turnover, ensuring alignment with project goals related to budget, schedule, quality, and constructability. The Preconstruction Manager leads all estimating and preconstruction efforts for assigned projects and works collaboratively with project management teams to deliver a seamless transition into construction. This individual is expected to drive accountability, foster strong relationships, and elevate the overall performance of the preconstruction process through leadership, technical expertise, and innovation. Physical Requirements Able to lift 25 lbsAbility to visit and walk active construction sites as needed Responsibilities Note that all duties denoted by an asterix (*) fall to the Pre-Con Manager in the absence of other project team members. If other team members are involved, the team will decide and communicate who is responsible. General Actively participate in internal company meetings, including weekly team and quarterly company meetingsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendorsSupport business development efforts, including client engagement and opportunity trackingMaintain and continuously improve estimating databases, tools, and workflowsServe as a subject matter expert in preconstruction and estimating practices Administrative Provide regular updates on project workload and opportunity pipelineMaintain accurate and organized documentation of estimates, budgets, and project dataSupport the refinement and standardization of internal preconstruction processes Pre Construction & Estimating Lead responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including participation in interviews and presentationsFacilitate client meetings and guide early project planning discussionsPerform site evaluations and develop detailed scope narrativesPrepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and cost analysesSolicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposalsLead value engineering and cost optimization effortsInitial Project Planning with OwnersDesign Oversight: Coordinate and lead design meetingsManage costsMunicipal coordination and permit application *Procurement of architects/engineers/vendors or subcontractors *Submittals (this typically will be PM or APM responsibility; only in extenuating circumstances would this be required) *Kickoff Submittal Process to assist in expediting a project *Build/Leverage software tools that expedite (automate as much as possible) everything we do internally to dissect the scope of a project.
