Pre-Commission Tech II

Overview

The Pre-Commissioning Technician II supports the pre-commissioning department and more senior technicians in the startup and repair of systems. Tasks range from basic system concepts to troubleshooting and creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Startup: Start up less complex equipment; assist with complex equipment and systems, gather product info (Model #'s, Serial #'s, Belt, filter sizes).
• Diagnose and Repair: Assist more senior technicians with troubleshooting and repairing problems.
• Support for Operations: Assist with system flushing, TAB, setting PRV's, maintaining belts, greasing bearings and motors before turnover.
• Review of Submittal Documents: Verify equipment on job and submittal match voltage/amps/HP/etc.
• After Hours Work: Works overtime on occasion.

Qualifications

• Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • 20 hours of continued education.
  • 2+ years' experience.
  • EPA 608 Certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • NFPA 70 certification.
• Ability to Develop Skills: Through mentorship, continuing education, and hands-on activity, develop safety habits, copper tube brazing, soft skills, time management, troubleshooting system knowledge, hydronic systems, VRF systems, chiller operation, and learning and development.
• Other Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, willing to tackle various ongoing projects, and able to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• NFPA 70 compliant uniform (provided by the company, replaced annually).
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Operating machinery and/or power tools.
• Noisy environment.
• Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $24.28 - USD $32.41 /Hr.
