Pre-Assessment Testing Nurse

About the Role

The Pre-Admissions Testing (PAT) Registered Nurse or LPN provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. This role may assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate. The nurse will deliver comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients and families in preparation for discharge.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Evaluate and monitor the patient's condition continuously.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques.
• Provide comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Perform patient and family assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in preparation for discharge.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN or LPN School of Nursing.
• Active RN or LPN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
