As the Pre-Admit Testing Nurse, you will assume responsibility for collecting health information and assessing your patient’s healthcare needs prior to his/her operation. Responsibilities

• Contact operative patients for pre-operative assessment
• Assess the physical and psychological health status of patients requiring surgical intervention
• Perform preoperative patient phone calls to conduct preadmission assessments and provide appropriate pre-operative instructions
• Coordinate with the surgery center scheduler to facilitate, organize, and complete charts for the procedure
• Consult with Physician/CRNA regarding patient assessment concerns and schedule preoperative evaluations as appropriate
• Report test abnormalities and other pertinent information to Physician, CRNA, procedure room staff, and other pre-operative area staff as necessary

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Preop, PACU, or ICU setting; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
• Active RN license as required by state of employment
• Required valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable)
• ACLS required
• PALS as required by facility
