Responsibilities

  • Perform assessment/data collection in an ongoing, systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status, as well as nutrition, pain, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
  • Formulate a goal-directed plan of care prioritized based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
  • Implement care thoroughly, skillfully, and consistently.
  • Establish priorities for patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources (time, personnel, equipment, and supplies).
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care given by healthcare team members.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers.
  • Identify patient/family learning needs and implement appropriate measures, including teach-back.
  • Document patient care and unit activities in a timely, accurate, and concise manner.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to patient/family rights, age-specific needs, cultural and ethical beliefs.
  • Apply safety principles as identified within the institution.
  • Deliver care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that preserves/protects patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (required).
  • One (1) year of general RN care experience.
  • Valid compact state or Arizona RN license.
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (AHA ACLS).
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider (AHA BLS).
  • Demonstrate competency in basic EKG skills by passing an EKG test or completing basic EKG class/modules within six months of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Two (2) years of medical/surgical experience or one year of critical care and/or PACU experience.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).

Pay

$35.00 - $58.63 per hour.
