Patient Assessment
- Coverage of medical histories and medication lists through comprehensive pre-operative phone interviews
- Identification of potential surgical or anesthesia risks
Pre-Op Education
- Teaching patients about pre-surgical protocols
- Informing patients about what to expect during their visit
- Providing basic post-operative care plans
Collaboration and Support
- Closely working with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and physicians to ensure patients are medically optimized
- Verifying surgical consents, medical records, and medication reconciliations in the EHR system
Nursing Care
- Assessing, developing, and implementing total nursing care for pre-operative and post-operative patients
- Administering medications and treatments ordered by the physician
- Caring for and discharging pre-operative patients according to facility policies
