Job Details
Mondays through Fridays: 5 days a week, 8am - 4:30pm (8 hours per day)
About the role
Works closely with other team members and anesthesia to evaluate and prepare patients for scheduled surgical or procedural interventions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative phone interviews to collect medical histories, medication lists, and identify potential surgical or anesthesia risks
- Teach patients about pre-surgical protocols (such as NPO status, which medications to hold) and basic post-operative care plans
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and physicians to ensure patients are medically optimized and that all necessary clearances are in the chart
- Verify surgical consents, medical records, and medication reconciliation in the EHR system prior to the procedure date
- Assess, develop, and implement total nursing care for pre-operative and post-operative patients
- Administer medications and treatments ordered by the physician
- Care for and discharge pre-operative patients according to facility policies
Requirements
Pat Rn qualifications include a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Registered Nurse certification.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and current RN license.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and proficiency in electronic health record systems are essential.
