Pratt Project Manager (NOT AN IT POSITION)

About the Role
This Project Manager position works cross-functionally with internal and external teams, including Legal, Engineering, Accounting, Sales, Trade Compliance, Order Entry, Field Services, and Purchasing. Responsibilities include preparing submittals and re-submittals for approval, managing all project tasks, customer requirements, contract administration, and customer service from project initiation to completion. The role reports to an Inside Sales Manager and requires frequent visits to the Company’s Kimball, TN manufacturing area, likely on a weekly basis. This is not an IT-related position, and the Project Manager will not have direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including customer requirements and contract administration.
- Prepare and handle submittals and re-submittals for approval.
- Collaborate with Legal, Accounting, and other teams to negotiate contract terms and conditions.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers via phone, email, or Zoom conference calls.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Manage multiple tasks (50+ jobs) and adjust priorities based on project demands.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong technical background, including experience with specifications and bill of materials.
- Excellent organizational skills, sense of urgency, and ability to learn quickly.
- Customer-focused with strong decision-making and multitasking abilities.
- Proven ability to initiate and maintain strong working relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Good technical aptitude and ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Strong time management skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, engineering, communications, technology, or a sales-related discipline.
- Experience with mainframe programs, including inventory control systems such as JD Edwards (JDE), is desired.
Schedule
Primary work hours are Monday through Friday. Work hours may vary based on customer requirements. This is a salaried exempt position and does not qualify for overtime pay.
