PRACTICUM EDUCATION COORDINATOR, School of Social Work, Hybrid

About the role

The Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) seeks a Practicum Coordinator to support MSW students in securing robust practicum experiences that align with core social work competencies and career preparedness.

Responsibilities

• Work with MSW students to secure internships required for social work training
• Engage in partnership development, vetting of potential agencies, and problem-solving as needed
• Provide supervision and support to field advisors
• Contribute to content development for and instruction of Practicum Education Seminars
• Facilitate information sessions and practicum preparation seminars
• Serve as practicum advisor to students in placement
• Provide virtual supervision for students in agency settings without a social worker on staff
• Participate in departmental and School-wide committees

Requirements

• A master’s degree in social work (MSW)
• At least 5-8 years of social work experience in clinical/macro settings
• Experience serving as a practicum education advisor/supervisor, 3+ years
• Demonstrated commitment to anti-oppressive social work practices
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• License to practice social work (LICSW or equivalent preferred)
