Program Description

PCHAS offers 14 programs and services across 28 locations in Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana, focusing on providing permanent homes for children and increased self-sufficiency for adults. These efforts are guided by the agency’s commitment to “The PCHAS Way,” emphasizing strength, family centrality, and goal-driven approaches.

Family Solutions for Kids (FSK) Practicum Student Program

PCHAS will provide:

• Opportunity to provide individual and family therapy to FSK clients via telehealth initially, with potential for in-home services.
• Orientation regarding policies, procedures, documentation, and software.
• Opportunity to participate in agency-sponsored trainings and community-based trainings.
• Information about community resources.
• Supervision by a licensed clinician for practicum activities and documentation to the student’s school.
• Weekly stipend of $150, paid bi-weekly.
• Taxes will be deducted from the stipend as required by the IRS.
• Mileage reimbursement, if applicable.
• A set schedule including 8 hours of therapy and up to 2 hours of case management services per week.
• Attendance at bi-weekly staffings and team meetings.
• Maintenance of client files and documentation according to ethical/legal standards.
• Maintaining communication with the practicum supervisor.
• Utilization of own devices (computer and cell phone).
• Maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA standards for all assigned clients and families.
• Valid driver’s license, risk-free driving record.
• Child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and child care/elder care disqualification list screenings.
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Requirements

• Willingness to undergo initial and periodic child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and child care/elder care disqualification list screenings.
• Submission of fingerprints for state and FBI review.
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical.
