About the Role

The Counseling and Behavioral Health Clinic helps families of any income level with everyday problems, build healthy relationships, and heal from trauma and grief. Licensed bilingual counselors serve families in schools, at parishes, and in other locations throughout the greater Houston area.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client intakes, screenings, and initial assessments.
  • Aid in developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Shadow licensed clinicians during counseling sessions.
  • Provide counseling to individuals or groups under clinical supervision.
  • Complete clinical documentation and progress notes using the EHR system.
  • Participate in supervision, case consultations, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Attend monthly team meetings on Friday morning.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions.
  • Support community outreach activities as needed.
  • Conduct research and assist with program related projects.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled graduate student in a clinical counseling concentration.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.

  • Cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed approach.
  • Understanding of DSM-informed diagnostic considerations.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a clinical setting.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).
