About the role
This position performs advanced Practice Support Assistant duties with a high level of autonomy and competency. Serves as a key member of the medical team, delivering excellent customer service and supporting solid patient-clinician relationships. In addition to core responsibilities, handles significant higher-level administrative tasks, which vary by department.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a role model and mentor for support staff; assist with onboarding and training
- Manage complex scheduling tasks, including appointment booking, template adjustments, and patient outreach
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting, handle follow-up activities and referral tracking
- Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving escalated issues and supporting patient satisfaction
- Oversee waiting room operations, verify patient information, and assist with check-in/check-out processes
- Complete and process FMLA forms and other documentation
- Collaborate with supervisors on coverage and workflow; lead huddles as needed
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and special projects
- May be asked to float to 3 other practices in the area when needed to provide coverage (approx. 10-minute drive from home site)
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of administrative experience in a healthcare setting
- Access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven solid technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, scheduling software and electronic medical records systems (Epic or equivalent)
- Proven solid problem solving and complex patient management skills

Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment.
Schedule
Full time, 40 hours/week. Monday through Friday, will work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 8AM - 5PM.
