Practice Supervisor Dermatology

About the role

Serves as a liaison for patients, government agencies, and third-party payers for the purpose of providing an on-site contact for individual practice sites.

Responsibilities

  • Completes regular performance evaluations for each staff member and conducts evaluations for new staff prior to the completion of the probationary period.
  • Captures and submits claims for reimbursement.
  • Maintains infection control standards and OSHA standards for the medical practice, assuring staff knowledge and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA policies and procedures.
  • Leads quality initiatives and safety functions that support patient care and reflects the initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations.
  • Collaborates with ancillary support services to provide a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Resolves patient complaints and proficiently uses computer applications to achieve optimum patient care efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payors
  • Mature judgment in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives
  • Ability to operate general office machines such as computer, fax machine, printer, and scanner
  • Ability to effectively learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient fashion
  • Ability to manage diverse personalities
  • Ability to adapt in an ever-changing healthcare environment
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures, with a close attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing patient-related information that is confidential in nature as needed to perform duties
  • Basic medical terminology
  • Education: Associate Preferred, High School Grad or Equiv Required, Field Of Study in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain
  • Experience: 2+ years of related work experience Required, Experience coding ICD-10 and CPT billing Preferred, Leadership experience in a healthcare setting Preferred, Patient care experience as CMA, LPN, EMT, etc. Preferred, Staff experience in a health care setting Preferred

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable of HIPAA privacy rules
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required

Schedule

Full time, Monday through Thursday 7:45am-5pm, Friday 7:45am-12pm
