About the role
Serves as a liaison for patients, government agencies, and third-party payers for the purpose of providing an on-site contact for individual practice sites.
Responsibilities
- Completes regular performance evaluations for each staff member and conducts evaluations for new staff prior to the completion of the probationary period.
- Captures and submits claims for reimbursement.
- Maintains infection control standards and OSHA standards for the medical practice, assuring staff knowledge and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA policies and procedures.
- Leads quality initiatives and safety functions that support patient care and reflects the initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations.
- Collaborates with ancillary support services to provide a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Resolves patient complaints and proficiently uses computer applications to achieve optimum patient care efficiencies.
Requirements
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payors
- Mature judgment in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives
- Ability to operate general office machines such as computer, fax machine, printer, and scanner
- Ability to effectively learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient fashion
- Ability to manage diverse personalities
- Ability to adapt in an ever-changing healthcare environment
- Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures, with a close attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing patient-related information that is confidential in nature as needed to perform duties
- Basic medical terminology
- Education: Associate Preferred, High School Grad or Equiv Required, Field Of Study in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain
- Experience: 2+ years of related work experience Required, Experience coding ICD-10 and CPT billing Preferred, Leadership experience in a healthcare setting Preferred, Patient care experience as CMA, LPN, EMT, etc. Preferred, Staff experience in a health care setting Preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA privacy rules
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required

Schedule
Full time, Monday through Thursday 7:45am-5pm, Friday 7:45am-12pm
